Lynn M. Schackow
Lynn Schackow was born and raised in Gainesville. She received a BS in Marketing and Management from Florida State University in 1989 and received her JD from the University of Florida Levin College of Law in 1992. After graduation from law school, Lynn worked for the University of Michigan in the athletic compliance office. In 1996, Lynn returned to Gainesville to practice law with her father, Gerald Schackow and the firm of Schackow & Mercadante. For the last 16 years, Lynn has focused solely on representing the rights of personal injury victims injured in car, truck and motorcycle accidents.
Lynn is admitted to the Florida Bar (1993) and the United States Court for the Northern District of Florida (2007). During her legal career Lynn has been active in the James C. Adkins American Inn of Court as a board member and has also been a member and chaired several events for the Eighth Judicial Circuit Bar Association including law week and the holiday auction. Outside of law, Lynn has been involved in the community through the Junior League of Gainesville (past Board Member), the United Way, the Gainesville Community Foundation (member Professional Advisory Council), Stop Children’s Cancer (committee member for charity golf tournament), as a volunteer youth soccer coach, and many other organizations.
Lynn is married to Corky and is step-mother to two boys. Lynn and Corky attend Christ Community Church where they are active in children and college ministries. In her free time Lynn loves to run, play tennis and spend time with her family.
From the very first phone call after my accident to the final settlement, the attorneys at Schackow & Mercadante supported me and my family. Attorneys Gerald Schackow and Brian Schackow were helpful and professional in answering my many questions and guiding me through from the time I began treatment (exercises and stretches) all the way through to the surgery. When my wife and I went to mediation, Attorneys Schackow and Schackow, along with Marie, handled the proceedings, speaking on our behalf, and securing a settlement that enabled us to pay for all of our medical expenses with additional funds to compensate for the entire ordeal. They treated us with kindness and respect, much like we were part of the family. It was evident that they truly cared about us. We appreciate so much their knowledge and expertise to guide us through this stressful time in our family life.
