Brian G. Schackow
About
Brian Schackow was born and raised in Gainesville, Alachua County, Florida. He attended Brentwood Elementary School, Ft. Clark Middle School, and graduated from PK Yonge High School. He attended the University of Florida and received a BA in History in 1999. While a student at Florida, Brian worked as an equipment manager for the Florida Gator Football team. During his time with the team, Brian worked with head coach Steve Spurrier and managed for quarterback Danny Wuerffel during the 1996 National Championship season.
Also at Florida, Brian met his wife Rebecca Hidalgo, who was a member of the Florida Gator Women’s Soccer Team. After graduation, Brian & Rebecca were married and moved together to Denver, Colorado, where Brian attended Denver University College of Law. While in law school, Brian competed in Moot Court, worked in the Student Law Office, and wrote for the Transportation Law Journal. He completed an internship at the Arapahoe County Public Defender Office during the Summer of 2001. He earned the book award for his efforts in Family Law (Fall 2000) and Trial Practice (Spring 2001).
In 2002, Brian returned home to Gainesville to practice law with his father, Gerald Schackow, and his sister, Lynn Schackow. For the past 14 years, Brian has worked hard representing and advocating for Floridians in their cases involving car, truck, and motorcycle accidents, as well as wrongful death cases, premises liability cases, nursing home abuse, assisted living neglect, and medical negligence. Brian is admitted to the Florida Bar (2003) and the United States Court for the Northern and Middle Districts of Florida. Brian is an active member of the James C. Adkins Inns of Court, the Eighth Judicial Circuit Bar Association, the Florida Bar Young Lawyers Division and the Florida Justice Association.
Outside of law, Brian has four children that keep him very busy. He is a devoted husband and Dad and spends the majority of his free time cheering his kids on at their various sporting events. He is an elder at Christ Community Church and teaches Sunday School to a K-1 st class. He is a member of the Florida Players Network, and the F Club. He enjoys watching Gator sporting events, going to the beach, and playing golf and tennis.
